What drills could be considered self-teaching drills? IOW, what drills could players perform that they would benefit from even if there were differing opinions as to whether they were beneficial?

Sometimes, drills/practices are met with the "just smile and do it your way" advice from well-meaning advisors. I'm hoping to find a few drills that will benefit players "in spite of" my bad coaching.

Maybe this will help break the ice.

I consider this drill to be self-teaching:
Place the tee midline of body. Set the tee at knee level, initially for a low middle pitch. Use an 18" wooden bat.

What I believe will make it self-teaching is the batter is forced to tilt, forced to clear the hip. Instruction will be to "throw" the barrel to the ball.

Comments? Suggestions? Other drills?
