You are in a fairly remote area so it is definitely a challenge to find good in-person instruction. When you say they aren't teaching currently, what does that mean exactly? They quit giving lessons

Just not doing lessons right now..I reached out to 2 of them in this area and only 1 responded and said currently not doing lessons 🤷‍♂️...it's been hard to find anyone around here...both girls are really into pitching and just tryin to get them on the right track..thats why I'm willing to travel some If I can make it work...thanks

Quick, I am in almost the same situation. I have a 1st year 12U DD who absolutely loves pitching but is as far as i can take her. There is nobody in my area teaching this (NEPA area) and most of them PC's that i ask which style do they teach i get the deer in the head lights, one even said "underhand of course" quickest decision i ever made lol. I have gone back and forth on remote lessons, I know it may be the only option. Has anyone had success with remote lessons? Thanks!

I have a recommendation. Instead of asking what style they teach (most people don't differentiate the 2) simply ask where they think the palm should be facing at the 9 o'clock position. You might be eliminating some people that actually teach the way you want only because they don't call it IR. They simply call it pitching.

Rick Pauly is coming to Pittsburgh in November. There might be coaches or players coming who might have coaches that are in your area. I drove 4 hours to go to one of his clinics in the pre-pandemic times and it was worth it.
I'll post a flyer for the clinic in its own thread.

Hello I'm looking for IR pitching lessons in my area (md/wv/pa/va) live in Falling Waters WV..my daughters play 12u and have been pitching for acouple months as it's been myself and youtube university so far and they want to take it to the next level and get serious about it (learn different pitches and so on)...I just have had no luck with finding anything around me..thanks for any info
talk with others in your area who have gone on to have success playing in college or are successful now in the older age group and see where they go. Mine has done Tincher to get a different set of eyes on her... she used it more like a camp vs. a lesson, take away 1-2 things each lesson and incorporate it because there was not a coach in our area.

I did this. I even shared video showing palm up at 9:00. She agreed. We got to the lesson, the first thing she did was put my dd in a T with palm down. argggg....

One other option, I might have missed it, is to get yourself better trained. Fastpitch Foundations courses. Or the Rick Pauly online courses.

Did you or your DD not stop and ask about that discrepancy? That's odd.
