I have a U16, going U18 next summer, High school junior and we are looking at getting a new bat this fall so it will be good and broke in by Spring HS season. Right now she is swinging an ADV Ghost 33/23, drop 10. We are thinking about going for a drop 9. This past spring she got her first bomb and hit a total of 5 between HS and summer select. She works out 3-4 times a week, in addition, to select and HS workouts, and is getting stronger. I hate to mess with anything, but I wonder if that 1 oz will give her a few more HR.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Greg

Drop 9 is a guideline at best.

My DD hits a 32 drop 10 Ghost Advanced. It weighs 23.5 ounces.

She also hits a 32 drop 9 Xeno. it weighs 23.5 ounces.

Yes, I did that on purpose. Know how much the bat weighs, not what it says it weighs.

EDIT: I just bought her a 33 drop 10 Anderson Rocketech, that reportedly weighs 23.5 ounces.

What year is your 32/-9 Xeno? I wish I could find some Xeno’s that only weighed a half ounce over.

I got some ‘17’s for my daughter in 29/18, 30/19, and 30/20 and they all weigh 20.75 ounces. Heck her 2016 in 30/19 that she loves weighs right at 21oz’s 🙄

DD used a 34 -9 2014 LXT for a little bit. She hit back to back pitches off the same pitcher in different AB's over the fence at a tourney. She sucked after that, and went back to the -10.

2020

I was checking justbats dot com practically daily and it was there for $199 once about 8 months ago.

That was a great price for a new one. Ive always felt Xeno’s were the best bat you can get for the money but I hate how inconsistent they are with the weights. These are two 2020’s I have right now and its crazy that the drop 10 pretty much weighs what your drop 9 does. The 31/20 pictured.... It must have been made on a Mon or Fri to be that far off 🤣

Yep. Nothing like weighing and measuring equipment by yourself. Had a a youth bat for 10u that was 2 oz heavier than marked.

Both DD used drop 8 in HS and DD1 used drop 8 in college. They liked them and were happy.
