it's time to invest in a good bat for the little one. She is 4'8" and weight 77 pounds. She's pretty strong for her petite size. She currently has a Louisville Slugger TPS Zephyr 30 inch -13 but that thing really seems like it has little pop. I think she can handle a 30/20 but there don't seem to be many options for bats this small. Any suggestions?

Petite? Your DD is a giant compared to my twig, lol! Mines 4-9 and 62-63lbs. Last year she was in the 80th percentile in height and 4th percentile in weight. Let me know if you find something because I'm looking for something. Probably 30" 18oz with minus 12.

3 ounces will be a huge adjustment for her. See if she can swing one at the store first. Look for a smooth, controlled swing with no flattening or barrel drop.
As far as a decent, yet inexpensive bat goes, my 10u dd swings a 30" -12 Dimarini Vendetta. The model is a few years old. (Black and yellowish-orange) I found it on eBay last year for $80. Great little bat...

I will get flack from the heavy bat crowd but the demarini Bustos at -13 is a great bat for younger kids. DD hit one the last year of 10's and first year of 12's. No sting in the handle and plenty of pop from the aluminum barrel. Fast hands hit a lot of balls.

I think you can find pretty good deals on the CF5 in the 30/20 if you look around.

Or the CF6 since the CF7s came out.

My dd is about the same size she swings a 29-19 Easton FS2. Its her first drop 10 good pop she can handle 30-20 but the length just looks to long.

For younger and smaller girls, the DeMarini CFs in -11 are a great place to start. They have all the pop of any -10 and are just a bit easier for these girls to handle. Have her try the -10s, too. The CF6 is on sale everywhere and some good deals can be found. You better act quick, though. The -11s in the smaller sizes (up to 31") go really, really fast.

Another bat I am really liking for younger girls is the Louisville Slugger LXT -10. It will weigh a bit under sticker and swings very light. It has great pop and has been very durable for our team of 11-year-olds. Several girls are swinging them and they are as good as anything I've seen in 14 years on the job. They are on closeout, too, so great deals can be had.

great.....thanks all, her sister has a CF5 and loves it. Now where can I find a 30 inch CF5? or a good equivalent bat? the interwebz are only showing this bat at 32+ inches.

ebay? - there are a couple for auction if you look and at least 1 used one with a buy it now price of $140.

Amazon has one of the cf6 models (not the standard one - the one with the paradox handle they are putting on all cf7s) in 30/20 for around $200 and also just 2 of cf5s in the 30/19 model for the same price but you are right 30/20s in the cf5 seem to be a bit scarce.

Closeout bats has CF6 -11 in her size for $229. I wouldn’t spend that much on a bat yet but it would be a really nice bat for her. :)
