Going to revive this thread for no reason other than to give my 2-cents. As stated, if the runner 'steals' second on a live ball, I have an out for running bases in reverse order. If HC calls time and informs me that he wants to place his runner back on second FOR THE EXPRESS REASON OF FAIRNESS, I will inform the opposing HC and allow it. I will also write a letter to state association, local press, the governor and anyone else who will listen about the exemplary display of good sportsmanship by choosing this action over the advantage of having the runner legally advance to 3rd base. Kudos to this sort of thing and I only wish we saw more of it.
