The poor girl (Chelsea Wilkinson) was in tears ! I felt so bad for her, and she was just brought into relieve !

That may be the worst part, the other pitcher was over 110 pitches and battled all night, only to have it end like that! That is a tough 7 2/3 shutout when she left loss!

What are the advantages of Wilkinson sliding to the far left of the rubber? Angle for screw and rise?

Although you can't really see it, sure looks like she caught the shoe laces. She is a competitor and will put it behind her very quickly.

What was Coach Lu arguing about the IP call? It seemed like she was trying to make a case there wasn't an IP.

I agree. I think the shoe lace of her stride foot got caught on the cleat of her drive foot tripping her.

Two outs.
She was up 0-2 on a batter she had struck out three times in the previous meeting.
She had only thrown 5 pitches.

I feel for the young lady. Its was embarrassing enough that she fell but to call IP :( I hope she can laugh it off in time.

Looks to me like she kicked her drive foot with her stride foot. Just a plain ole miss-step and tripped herself.

A trip wouldn't stop the forward motion of her stride leg. She hogtied herself on her shoelace. If you look at her legs while she is on the ground it looks like she is still caught and can't extend her legs.
