She is great at fouling off pitches she doesn't like

I hear this quite a bit on baseball/softball discussion sites and around the fields but I don't believe its possible. No batter is THAT good that they can, at will, foul off pitch after pitch that they don't like and then get a base hit with the pitch they like comes over the plate. Just because someone has a quality at-bat doesn't necessarily mean that they can easily foul off pitch after pitch waiting for a certain pitch. Hindsight is 20/20 in these situations and parents/players give the batter way too much credit for fouling off pitches...just my .02

Lol - DD and I were just discussing this. I asked her - can you purposely foul balls off or is it a pitch you were swinging at and missed? She said most of the time she is just trying to hit the ball...whether foul or not. So yes - I would agree. I misspoke earlier! She rarely plain and simple strikes out. She usually makes contact and then hits a blooper and gets thrown out at 1st. But those high pitches...ugh!
