My DD was on a team that was 14U and not very good. It was a daddy ball coach (but a really nice guy) and a decent assistant coach. DD had been workin with a catching coach to develop those skills during the off season. Our team maybe won 1/3 of our games. But it was an awesome developmental year for DD. The coaches let her try her skills she was learning including play selections, calling pitches, throw downs, etc. That experience even with a losing season was immensely valuable to her development as a catcher. As a parent, I still look at that as one of her best seasons because she developed so much as a player. And at that age, hat was more important than wins. Although wins would have been nice as well.
