My report: DD seems to be really thriving well in college atmosphere. She has told me that she has surprised herself at her tenacity and drive to push herself in workouts and practice. She texted me yesterday excited about running a 7:40 mile (fastest on team by one second and her PR is 8:12, I think). Hearing her excitement to practice/workout on her own is very refreshing to hear - has to be something to do with having live-in softball players to workout with! On the school front, she seems to be doing well so far - won't know until midterms or end of semester, I guess. She did say that she seems to be only player with harder classes, and that everyone else has easy classes (aka very little homework)...and that when everyone chimes in to go out somewhere, she has to stay behind because of homework. She has her eye on the prize for now (as a reminder, she's in JuCo) - let's hope she keeps her eye on that prize through next year.
I hope all the other freshmen are having the same experience - it definitely alleviates any stress of wondering how they are doing.
