That does seem odd. Usually when a coach realizes they can't hit the pitcher, they try some bunts.

Taking nothing away from this pitcher, but my guess is this high school team is not a good offensive team and couldn't lay down a bunt either against good pitching.
Total coaching fail to let a pitcher get 21 k's in a game.
A few years ago a local HS pitcher had a perfect game with 20 Ks. Soooooo close.

I know a girl that struck out 20 in a high school game...and lost.

If you were losing coach, how about having a girl try to slap and step out of the batters box. I would do what it takes to take away the golden game. Its embarrassing.
On a similar note, Professional US Tennis Player Bill Scanlon won a tennis match 6-2 6-0 in 1983 at the WCT Gold Coast Classic over Marcos Hocevar. He won the second set by winning 24 straight points in a row and thus recording the first ever Golden Set on the Pro tour and is a record in the Guiness Book of World Records. That's pretty hard to do against World Class competition.
