Downside to exposure tournaments?

My daughter is a 98 player and she has been invited to play in an exposure tournament on a 96 team. I'm not even sure it's that great of an exposure tournament (lots of invited coaches bot none listed as confirmed on the website), but my question is broader than this tournament. Can a player hurt themselves by playing too far up in an exposure tournament and struggling?

As long as your DD is not a pitcher, the college coaches will never look her name up or pay enough attention if she has a bad weekend. They look at 100's of players at a big expo, "stand outs" are the only ones that stand out in their mind. The rest eat crow until they catch their eye.

Long story short, young and a struggling weekend will not hurt you in the long run.

I agree with Goingdeep. But if she makes some stand out play they may put her on their list to watch. Plus it will give her a good idea of where she needs to be skill wise.
