I love hearing stuff like this. It's great to know the hard work is paying off!
Congrats! Finding the right school for our DD's is the IMHO the biggest piece of this puzzle. I'm going through exactly that with my twin DD's right now as they also are rising Juniors.
Marriard, I do have a question about the "offer" part of this if you don't mind? Was it written, verbal, communicated to you, your DD, her coach or recruiting coordinator? As parents we hear all these different stories that such and such school is interested or something along those lines. I guess I'm wondering what constitutes an "offer" and how direct are they usually?
Nice to have one "in the bank" because it takes a lot of pressure off. D3 coaches (especially the private schools) are used to being patient. They have to wait for admissions and financial aid to really be able to assess interest.Direct conversation on the phone with DD and in a followup email to her. As it is D3 there is no athletic money so it was "We want you to be here and have a spot to offer to you when you are ready to make a decision. We will help anyway we can with admissions etc. Lets have regular contact and communication and lets plan to get you on campus for <various recruiting events such as overnights/camps/etc>"
'Interest' always has a lot of vague wording and room for interpretation (got lots and lots of that still going on). You want the above where it is direct and to the point and they let you know EXACTLY where you stand.
