It's always an interesting position, to coach your own daughter. I'm probably like most coaches, harder on her than the other players. I do make an honest attempt to give her credit when it's due, though.
Our 14A team was missing one of our 3 pitchers for 6 games this weekend. DD ended up throwing 23 innings, and yes, she is gassed. Probably less than 8-10 true clean base hits given up, pitched well enough to win each game. She was going on shear guts the last game, lots of spinning stuff and off-speed, there just wasn't much fastball left. Unfortunately the whole team was just in one of those modes, 3 were battling nasty colds, and they just couldn't get the energy together when they needed it. Errors at bad times, couldn't get the timely hit when we were up to bat. We ended up 4-2.
She gets tomorrow off
, rest up for big one up in the Seattle area this weekend. Hope to have all three of the pitching staff ready to go for this one!
