How does a player earn a preseason award?

Could be a reflection of their preseason events. But how much of a true evaluation is that really?

Are there other factors involved?
Do they use an accumulation of
*previous *years stats/ performance?

Interesting. DD's former college coach got it wrong every year. One of the players each year was did not live up to the pre season Hype. Cue the sad clown music.

How does a player earn a preseason award?

Past performance is what it should be based off of. Sometimes it can be word of mouth in the travel ball world. Word of mouth can be a little tricky depending on who you are getting that info from.

Found this info about Big Time Awards handed out. Has some detail about selection/ voter process. ( maybe preseason Awards done the same way but not indicated in article?
Cannot find anything though on preseason award info.)
