Had an umpire the other day call an out on a tag play and said the short stop tagged her hair, not her head, just her hair.
He said the hair is just like the uniform and can be tagged for an out. Is that true?

Thanks

Man your quick. Thanks, I just had never ran into that particular call before and it sounded funny to hear him say she tagged her hair.

Crew cuts for all!!!

Can a fielder who is in possession of the ball use a pony tail to contact the base or runner for an out?

Inquiring minds....

If you can tag someone's hair for an out, do you also get first base if your hair is hit by a pitch? Assuming, of course, that the hair made an attempt to get out of the way?

You'd think people would wear oversized clothes, even a jacket, to increase the chances of being hit.

One of the reasons players are suppose to keep shirts tucked in. Much more likely for a shirt tail to get hit by a pitch if it is hanging out.
