My first forum post is, fittingly, a "Parent Brag"
My DD's 12U team traveled to Lexington, KY this weekend to play in the "Battle for the Bling" ring tournament. We saved our best-for-last by playing the best softball of the season in our last summer tourney! We went 5-0 for the weekend, including an exciting come-from-behind 7-6 win in Game 4!
DD had been struggling so badly at the plate recently that she was not even in the hitting lineup just 2 weeks ago. We were both very frustrated, but continued to work through it by going to the cage 4-5 times a week and working on some mechanics issues that were rearing their head. She is very small for her age, so moving up to 12U has been a challenge from the start. However, all the hard work finally started to click this weekend! She earned her way back into the lineup and went 6-11 (.545), and had 5 RBI!
I guess our championship was destiny because the stone color in the ring is teal ---- the same color as our uniforms
So proud of DD, her teammates, and her coaches! Hopefully the confidence she gained this weekend will carry over into the fall TB season!
