Congrats North Florida!

I think you'll see a lot more east coast teams doing well in ASA championships. Most of the elite California teams are playing the Premier/Rise championships instead now. It's fairly typical that the east coast lags the trend by a few years. That said, I watched the games and North Florida deserves all the kudos!

Here's a comparison of California teams in the ASA vs Premier championships. Those of you in the know will spot the usual suspects.

Hmmmmm? Who would have ever thought that California teams would play in a California organized and California run tournament.

As far as the lagging? Why would most teams from the east spend $20000-30000 in team and parent funds to play in such a tourney? Most eastern players will play for eastern colleges.

If eastern teams are willing to fork out the money to play the premier, my hat's off to them.

Just my 2 cents.

Premier has definitely taken away from the top teams being at ASA Nationals. That being said, TNF winning was a great accomplishment. They have been a consistent top finisher for a few years now. This is the 2nd Florida team to win it all at the 18 Gold level. If Premier doesn't find a way to get more teams nationally involved, it will not last. Curious to see how the GCH do this week in HB. They finished 4th in ASA Gold this past week. Not sure the rest of the country has caught Cali just yet. I would still put money on the top team in Cali over anyone else in the USA. JMHO.
