Middle school track & field season is in full bloom at the moment. My DD has always enjoyed sprinting and is doing it again this year (although she would probably do much better if there had been a 50 m dash instead of 100 m). Looking around at some of the other events, I always thought that with a little practice, she should do well in discus, since it makes use of many of the same muscles and shares some biomechanical similarities with pitching and batting. Am I off base on this?
