CB ... my first hitting session with a new hitter is an evaluation session also. Only difference is that I don't give any instruction during the evaluation. Why? I'm looking at the kid's swing and movement pattern. I'm trying to see where they are at and sum up a plan to get them where I want them. The second part of the first session will be a review of some basic drills with an explanation of the intent. In follow up sessions we get to work.
I understand but the young lady had never pitched a ball at all. So, there is that. They really thought that I could just let her be a pitcher when she didn't know the basic windup at all. In the hitting aspect, I don't give any instruction at all.
