Neck Slot Drill ....
Neck Slot Drill ....
I minus the thrust. I think swinging from there can help the majority of swings posted here.
Personally, I only resort to a drill like this when I have a kid that feels the need to begin their swing with their arms, and not the torso-engine. The notion is to take the arms away ... and learn to start the swing with the torso-engine.
I hear you though ... you wish to isolate an action with the hands/forearms. I'm not one of those people that buys into that. Why? Because I believe the arms/hands should basically respond to the circular energy created by the torso-engine ... I don't believe the short-hands action that I teach can be learned without the torso-engine's initial pull.

Is your torso engine similar to Blue’s flail? The corse pulse?
It's hard for the arms/hand to follow if their busy creating force themselves.

Not at all. That's what "short-hands" is all about ... aggressively seeking plan during the initial 'torso pull'. The two engines blend together perfectly. In fact, the blending of the two engines, IMO anyways, is more important than attempting to go nuts with either engine.
