12 YO DD Swing - Looking for feedback

Good Afternoon all, I am looking for some feedback on my daughters swing. I have slowed it down and see a lot of good but I dont think her front foot is right. I approached her Hitting coach and she said she does not want to introduce a step at this point and is just working on keeping her foot spacing open.

My other question is how do you get your daughter over the fear of being in the box? My daughter hits a ton in practice becasue she is relaxed, as soon as we hit a game i can see she is in her own head trying to go over everything and make sure its right. than the pitch comes and shes out in front and hits a dribbler.

Again any suggestions will be appreciated as well as any drill you think we should be doing to help her!

I would suggest watching the tip of her bat and the initial direction it travels once she is beginning her launch. She does some things well, but that is something that stuck out to me. I am sure the real experts will chime in soon. Good luck!!

NOTE: I am not an expert. Just a dad that enjoys talking about hitting...

This is just a random swing I snagged from the Model Swing thread. Look at the torso stretch and compare to your DD. As hands go back and at the same time the stride occurs you get this awesome stretch which helps the whole body, not just the arms swing. This critical element is missing with your DD.

I agree with the stretch why I had asked her instructor about the step. I agree that she is missing that stretch to help bring everything together. Thanks

I actually like where the hands begin. The only problem is that is not a good place to start the swing. I like the hands to start forward and high and "then" move "down" and back. The hands should be around shoulder height, not above, and not higher then the back elbow at launch. There should be more lead arm stretch.

I hate the fastpitch jab step. Consider learning how to no stride correctly. The jab step is a pet peeve for me. The problems are clear, early opening of the front foot/knee/hip.

I have to say it does look like she can hit. Not to bad for what she is doing with the swing. Could be allot better and more efficient.
