Just threw a quick video together. Looking to explore with different angles for a future skills video. Whats your thoughts with the catchers point of view??
I like it, but I wouldn't use slow-mo on that view. I find it makes the break of a pitch more difficult to see, but that may not be the case for everyone.
Just FYI I will not be using slomo clips in final version. This was just a test on angles and on editing mostly. The final clip will even be a better resolution. I actually used this clip and sent it to GOPro. Thats why the funky edits too.
I think the best advice I've heard is: try and emulate the camera angles, lens effects, distances, etc that the networks use when broadcasting games.
This is what everyone is familiar with.
As soon as I see weird "worm's eye" views, fish-eye lens effects, crazy scene transitions, lots of music dubbing, etc.
it says to me that these "special effects" are being utilized to hide the fact that the girl isn't a great pitcher.
Keep it simple. Highlight the skills in a format everyone is used to.
Just one man's opinion.
