The videos below of Osterman and Ueno demonstrate something I consider an adder, but some will say it’s poor mechanics. Watch the path of the ball from 12-6 in these clips. The ball does not stay on the perfect track that many PC's will prescribe 100’s of wall drill reps to correct. From the catcher’s view, the ball can be seen behind the pitcher’s head before disappearing behind the body and swerving back to release at the hip. I see this motion as an “adder.” I see the body finding a way to load more potential energy.
What do you think? Adder or anomaly?
