I’m from another part of GA and making the HS team in our area is not always who is the best player, it can be about politics, one girl who is a friend of my daughters hit 2 homers in the 2 hour try out and was cut while other girls who didn’t hit a solid ball, pop-ups and weak grounders, made the team. The coach instructed them to buy a $150.00 pair of shoes and she collected $300.00 plus in donations before she was cut. She in my opinion was a good player better than some who made the team.

If she picked up her front foot when she loads, she would fall backwards! Watch how far she goes back. Many other faults with this swing.

I have done many clinics with parents and coaches that teach hands to the ball or swing level. Here is an easy way to show them what they are teaching isn't A good method, if you watch Mike and Sue in RVP demo the big zone it will help you understand . Set up a hitting net. Put a T back around 10' from the net. I use caution tape from the net to the T, that shows the flight path of a ball pitched in the strike zone. I put a plate roughly at 6'. I take a 32" bat and mark the sweet spot with yellow tape at 28". Now I have the kid see how long the sweet spot stays in what we call the BIG ZONE when they swing level or take the hands to the ball. It will open you eyes. You can measure it. I take cloths pens and mark when the sweet spot of the bat is at the caution tape and when it comes out. If you swing level or take the hands to the ball. It will enter the Big Zone than exit. Then enter again and exit. With a correct swing plane most of my kids keep the sweet spot of the bat in the Big Zone for around 54"
