What Donaldson is saying is not groundbreaking. It's what a lot of people have been saying, but he's able to explain it because he's lived it and figured it out. "Coaching" is atrocious for the most part. Now with YouTube and thousands of other "coaches" giving opinions it muddies the water. Kids who develop into adults with the wrong coaching have a long way to go to correction. He did it himself and learned what suits him instead of listening to the same old clowns preaching knob to the ball, hands inside, knees bent, elbow up, doorknocking knuckles, ......... It's so regurgitation.

Everyday I see "coaches" who have never played past coach pitch baseball giving instructions on how to hit a simple fastball low and away. It's laughable and a major disservice to the children that are listening

He is not the first one but he is the first real superstar talking about this which man hat it has a bigger impact. There have been guys in the 00s already but usually they were mediocre players and nobody cared about them.

JD is a superstar plus he has a big personality so it has a big impact on the public.in pro baseball often who says something is more important than how good the information is.
