Gags, I've been coaching "tip and rip" since my daughter was 12. He didn't create that. The first gentleman that I know talked about "tip and rip" was BBscout, otherwise known as DMac. Gags, for me there are levels of hatred toward people that are unhealthy. Let me describe my level of hatred toward the guy in that video with a line from a Phil Collins song. "If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand." That probably makes a statement as much as if I were to post my real thoughts.

DMAC was the first I have heard tip n rip. Also I believe this 9 zone guy is setting up camps for Richard Schneck on twitter, Theres an old guy that coaches college baseball that I heard years and years ago that promoted a 1 oclock hand set..which is basically tip n rip

I strongly disagree. Talking strictly hitting and not Rich's personality, I have learned a lot from the HI Blog(no I am not a Hi member). Mainly HI has filled in a lot of the missing pieces for me. JMHO.

What in particular can you not or will not 'replicate'. Maybe I can help you. Let's discuss....

Basically what he shows in the clip that I posted. When I swing and I focus on "the bat blurring behind me", my hits are not as good or as far as when I focus on getting the bat to contact. Im not sure I can explain it. Forgive me for my ability to convey my thoughts. Let me think on it and I will get back with you.

I do like tip and rip hand set so maybe that is the same as what TM is saying but, in my little mind I dont see them as the same thing.

I can't see Twitter at work. I'm picturing a 'corner' where 'the bat blurring behind me' is occurring. Creating and maintaining, not bleeding the corner.

Sorry I tried to post gifs but, I'm unable.

On the twitter feed that I saw, all he was demonstrating was the hand pivot point. I am also not an "HI guy", but my understanding is the key is syncing the "hand pivot" point with the "rear hip pivot" point. Without that sync you don't have a true corner. So you end up with either a "push" swing or a disconnected "pull" swing. Just my opinion of course. Maybe Spartans can correct me...

I don't have twitter and never will. I'm just an old guy. However, I have read a few of those accounts. I find it hard to believe that an honest discussion can be had. Responses can be blocked. I think it is hard to follow any exchange of ideas and so, it is more preaching to the choir. I do feel that these message boards will die due to twitter. That will be a shame. These message boards create a sense of community. Think of all of the post here about member's dd's, how we respond/support those various families, and then, naturally how we have all shared our journey. IMO, that won't happen on twitter.

The big limitation of Twitter is 140 characters per post. Meaningful discussion is hard to have in 140-character increments. I completely agree about the "community" factor. For me, that is one of the biggest draws to this format.

I understand that part FP26. Its the focusing on the dropping the bat back like bopping a person behind you. Maybe i need to take more video of myself to see. Thansk for the dialog.

I'm not an HI guy, so I am not the best person to use as a source. I know some non-HI people will point at the "bopping" action as a negative. But I know of some pro-HI people that claim the bopping has a directional component. Maybe one of our resident HI experts will weigh in.

The barrel path he latched onto is the best thing to come out of it. Re training the forearms to help create that path as opposed to the flatten and swing mechanic. Use the core correctly (time wise as well as mechanic wise) and the swing is as automatic as you can get. You will get forward yet back and you will get blur if you don't screw up the initial barrel path.

I don't discount Teacherman's information though I don't agree with some of it in the past. I don't have any idea what he teaches now. However, and let me be clear here, there is no way in heck that I'd ever share video of my child with him. People like LClifton learned the hard way about that.
