How many know what tilt over and hold on to the damn bat means?

Because, TTB is just another way to say all the slack is taken out of the swing and there is suddenness to the swing.

TTB does not simply mean to hold on to the handle of the bat and rotate the body.

TTB suggests that there is an additional and independent action beyond the body's rotation that is working on arcing/turning/orbiting the barrel.

I think Mankin was the first to describe connection with transfer mechanics. Connection does not mean there is no early batspeed being created. In fact Mankin suggested the opposite, THT.

BTW, I concluded that just having fun doesn't change swing mechanics and keeping it simple. I think swing mechanics should be able to change quickier if you do something to force change.

So looking at the bottom slo mo clip, Is there any arcing without rotation. The answer is no BTW. There is rotation from the lower body even if the shoulders haven't turned that much.

I guess the girl is showing a lack of TTB because she is getting the hands ahead of rotation, not setting up a deep axis for the hands.

Bold above ... you are correct, but don't take that to mean that there isn't an additional and independent action taking place to work/turn/arc/orbit the barrel ... because there is. Think of it this way ... if the sequence has the body 'turning' first, then you'll still come to the same conclusion even with an additional independent action.

What do you think of 100% working on TTB? , to eliminate all the slop of trying to swing a bat.

Shawn,

What’s your definition of TTB? Together with a post you made after the one above, it sounds like your equating TTB with some form of the SNF (Stretch [snap?]-n-Fire) drill, which is what I usually see suggested when discussing how to remove “slop” from a swing.

Thanks,

Gags
