It’s time (past time, really) to buy 14-YO DD a new glove. She will be 15 in March and is about 5’6” and 110 pounds. Her main position is pitcher, secondary position is CF, and she plays the occasional inning at 2nd base.

What should we be looking for? Size? Web design? (I’d like to buy one glove that will work when she pitches and plays outfield if possible—she doesn’t play enough 2nd base to do a different glove for that.)

Gotta say that the Vinci BV-1929L has served my DD very well, picked it up when she was playing her first year at 14's and she's still in love with it. She's 5'5"/132lbs and playing 18s now, primarily pitching and OF but used to play a lot of middle infield as well. The glove has been very versatile, fits her hand well and with decent care/maintenance has held up well. The laces are a weak point but after getting it relaced last year with some decent Tanners it's still going strong. Last year we also picked up a new, more dedicated OF glove but the 1929 is still capable anywhere on the field.

I have to say my DD just got her 1929 for xmas and as she uses it more she is loving it. DD will be 12 in a few weeks and is 5' 93lbs... Other than that she has used a Shoeless Jane glove for the last two years (11.75") and going to the bigger ball this year I decided to get her the "forever glove". I plan on having the shoeless glove relaced later this year just as a back up in her bag if she ever needs it.

Also, just to add to my last post about my P/OF DD using the BV 1929-L, dedicated OF glove we picked up last year is the Vinci RV-1961. It's a bit bigger (12.75) and has an H-web.

My other DD (twin) that is primarily a Catcher but plays a lot of 3rd (and anywhere else on the field really) just picked up a Vinci Optimus BV-1929 Hybrid (H-web) from Drakemir last year for when she's not behind the dish....she loves that glove also and it plays rock solid. Great pattern, great finger stalls and fit for many.

Bought DD a Vinci BV1929-L from Drakemir. The quality is top notch and she loves it. The size is perfect for a utility player. She got the black and white, it looks amazing!

If this were a Democratic Process.......Vinci / Drakemir for the win!

***BV1929-L, listed as a 12.5” glove, plays more like a 12.25” glove, If you go this route, do like Tatonka and have Drakemir make you a custom / hybrid with an H-web, of course that’s just personal preference.

***RV1961-L, listed at 12.75”, plays more like a 12.5” glove, I like the 1961 pattern more and this would be my choice between these two. Again, just personal.......

Here’s a RV1961 I gave away several months back, girl in our organization saw it, put it on, next thing I know her Dad is texting me in “that” voice like how much is this going to cost me?? She’s got to have it!!
