Annasdad- I agree completely that fit is the most important parry. And a helmet is such a personal choice I actually wish players could choose their own.

This is one situation that a little personalization wouldn’t hurt anyone. Team colors, put a supplied team logo on your own helmet and roll with it.

I don’t know if this is helpful at all but I’ll give it a shot.

From left to right, Rip-it, Schutte, Easton, Boombah. (Note: the Schutte helmet has a Rip-it chin strap on it, didn’t realize it until after I edited the pic.) In the shot from above I lined the mask up on the edge of the line. On the Rip-it, the mask is under the visor. In the shot from the front, it’s hard to compare anything because the shapes of the helmet are different. One interesting thing, (I thought), all the helmets had a 2 1/4” space between the visor and the mask, except the Rip-it which was 2 1/2” space. You wouldn’t think a 1/4” difference matters but I think the combination of the top crossbar being lower and closer to the players face helps get it out of the hitters view.

Last thing- I asked dd #2 to rank the helmets. She said the Easton was #2 not #3 in her opinion. I just remember thinking that the top cross bar always looked like it was in front of her eyes when I was front tossing to her... Fit of the helmet will affect that though, so it’s going to be different for different players.

Wish I had a Mizuno helmet for the lineup. I believe they have a slightly better selection of sizes but it’s been years since I saw one up close.

Rip it is known to have pads start to come out. It's and easy fix with silicone and put a balloon in and blow up. with that said they fit the best. my boys want to use them but they are made for girls softball. I think they aren't approved for dixie baseball

I know I have one org here that buys Worth helmets from me...now Rawlings. I don't know how they compare as I don't see every kind...but they have liked them
and not too pricey. Again, no idea comparatively, but just another option as well.

DD had her helmet spray painted to look like Team helmet, everyone seemed OK with it.

I just bought the Easton Prowess Series helmet for a couple of my kids. I feel like it has great visibility. If I could figure out how to post pics I would lol

The Schutt has several different sizes that offer better fit. To me the looked better than most other brands I have and I think has been my daughter’s favorite when the team had them.
