FYI her choice was because "an animal should not have to die for me to eat". We are respecting her decision, and supporting her (buying protein shakes to make certain she gets enough, etc.), but we have not changed our eating habits, and very minimal changes to grocery shopping (just adding a few things really, shakes, veggie burgers, etc.). We are trying to use this decision of hers to teach her that it is Ok to believe something different, as long as your belief and it's practice does not harm others, and you respect others beliefs as well. we still make meals as we normally would, and just do our best to accommodate her needs as well (not really all that different from how meals normally are, as with three, it is hard enough to make a meal that everyone will eat at least most of, let alone actively like). Thank god we live in the land of Diners, and they make up a good portion of our eating out, so she can get breakfast a lot when we eat out (eggs).

honestly, kind of admire her, she is taking a stand for what she believes in, but respectfully, not putting any one else down for their choices, not really an ounce of preachiness about it unless one of her siblings or friends is making a big deal about it. and she has been 100% faithful to this choice as best as I know.

It's a dog eat dog world. Don't see that changing.

I see it as my duty to comsume animal products because if we dont use them they will go to waste and the animal will have died for nothing... and I like the taste...and I like leather gloves.

Motorcross gloves do not have as much "feel" as batting gloves, but they are relatively inexpensive and last longer.
