LXT feels too heavy

So my daughter has never loved her cf9 and after seeing a post on here about how fast they are selling we talked and agreed to sell it and try an LXT. Sold the cf9 in a matter of hours for enough to cover the cost of the LXT. It arrived Saturday, 2 days early btw, and we took it out back to hit a little. I noticed she was swinging really slow and asked why, "It feels way too heavy" It seems to feel more end loaded than balanced to me and it is the same size as the cf9-28/17. We have our first tournament this weekend, she is guesting for a 10u team the following weekend and then our team plays again the third weekend. I think I screwed up! Anyone else have an issue like that with the LXT? I've read so many reviews about how balanced they are and how great they swing that I didn't think twice about making the switch. She can use her Worth Legit but I was looking forward to her using the LXT as she is the only girl on the team that isn't swinging a Demarini now. I will say that the balls that she managed to hit solidly really launched of the bat so it definitely seems hot.

IME the LXT is very balanced but it swings kind of like a wet noodle. My daughter hated it. With that being said you can't judge anything on one BP session, give it a couple weeks and see what you think as she becomes more familiar with the bat. In the mean time, use in games whatever she is used to and comfortable with.

Couple of things here, the Demarini is at or under advertised weight and the LXT is over weight. Also the swing weight (balance or lack of) is quite a bit more on the LXT. We have 30/20 in CF8, LXT, and '11 Easton Stealth and the difference between each is a LOT.

Eric's bat weight database has the 28/17 CF9 coming in at 18.3oz, and a 2017 LXT 28/17 coming in at 18.6oz. Really shouldn't make a difference, have her eat a bigger breakfast and tell her to swing harder:cool:. You didn't screw up! Two things about the LXT, for me anyway, I've always thought they felt very balanced until we moved to a 33/23, that weight to me always felt like it had a slight end load. The other thing is I've never been impressed with a LXT straight out of the wrapper, now it doesn't take a ton of hits but they do need to be opened up and then look out!

She's playing 10U and using a 28/17 bat, I'd worry way more about proper mechanics right now than a few tenths of an ounce! That bat will be fine, do NOT let her see or hear any negative thoughts or words coming from you about that bat or the battle is already lost!

She actually plays 8u but is guesting for our sister team in 10u because they will be missing a couple and she played with these girls last year. I made sure not to make one negative comment about her saying it was heavy, I just had her take a few more swings and told her she was probably tired. I looked at the database also and didn't see enough difference there to matter. I wish you would gain about 10 lbs., she is tiny at 50" and 53lbs. I hit about 60-70 balls off a tee before she swung it so maybe it was already opening up when she used it.

The database is a very small quantity on LXTs.

I am gonna guess you have an ounce diff in weight. Most LXTs I have weight in the small drop 11s were about an ounce over. The CF's were
very close to weight.

I guess I was jumping the gun worrying. She played in our first rec game of the season last night and did fine. First at bat she hit off the end and said it didn't even sting. Second at bat was a hard shot to right center.

DD loved her LXT (28/17), It was a confidence booster for her as It was her first composite. She has moved on from It now, but I can vouch that the LXT does In fact weigh over sticker. In fact It weighs pretty much the same as her 29/18 CF9. I think It actually weighed a tenth of an ounce heavier than the next size up CF9.
