If you buy discounted models from the previous year, you might be able to get a third bat.

If your AD said "two bats" and didn't give budget, get the two best/most expensive ones you can. :)

Good advice right here, especially buying cheap and trying to "swing" a third bat!

For a team bat I would check with Coresoftball20 and check Ebay for a sale on last years model. Play-It-Again sports is also a good place to check.

Yep, good advice. My local PIAS usually has several 34" Rocketechs on the cheap, that will toughen them up.....they better hit the weight room soon!

That's good to hear Westwind, cause I really do want my DD to try one! She's a die hard LXT girl and a lot of times trying to switch a girl over to Easton from another brand just don't work. I bought her a 2015 Mako that I found cheap, she wouldn't even look at it! I used it for infield & outfield practice and I thought it was hot as a firecracker......what do I know? Anyone need a 32/22 Mako with only old man dad swings on it?

DD demo'd a Ghost at Nationals. She usually swings a Xeno 34/26 but the biggest that they had to swing was a 33/24. She said that it felt really good if you hit the ball square in the (in her opinion) small sweet spot. Otherwise she thought that it felt weird on contact and wasn't very forgiving. I noticed that the ball had a lot of pop off the bat when hit square. She also demo'd the LS PXT, which she hated - said the vibration was horrible (she almost dropped the bat on first contact). They don't make the Ghost in a -8 so I just bought her a 2017 Xeno 34/26 for $150 during LS's one day sale.

I would say that you can't go wrong with a Xeno, LXT or CF9 for a high school team - that is what all of the travel ball kids are swinging. I would go with a 33/23...

34/26 -8 = Beast mode!! My DD uses a 2017 33/23 LXT, I definitely want to demo a Ghost before I buy one. As far as the PXT, I have not heard one good comment about that bat, in fact one of the bat/glove vendors that pretty much follows a lot of the tournaments we play said it's a certified flop!!

The LTX and DeMarini CF9 are very similar, both are nice balanced bats. Be nice to get 1 or the other but not 1 of each if you are getting 2 bats. They are too close to each other.

The Xeno is end loaded and be a little heavier then either one of those and give your batters some options.

Except for the ghost DD has at one point or another used all the bats mentioned in thread, she like them a but the Mako. Mako might have not been sized right and been a little big for her.

Bats break, things happen, not every bat rolls off perfect. I know Easton did a tweak on the issue recently. They hook their customers up and take care of any issue. But
all in all, the bat has done very well holding up. A few here and there.

I would NEVER buy a drop 11 Sprite for team use as these bats are the worst bat durability wise. Any other bats, if you buy older models, I think would be good for you.

If interested, I do have some deals on some bats if you want. I have the new Marucci Cat4 connect that I would deal you and would be great for team use as it gets
better after use. And I also have a used 33/23 Cat4 I could throw into the deal to lower cost on a pair.

Hit me up if interested 610-417-0448

I figured it was a “luck of the draw” mis-hits or an issue with a single production run since I had not heard any other rumblings about the Ghosts. BTW, that coach was quick to say that really likes them for both his players and students.

DD tried a Mako when they came out, it was perfectly sized, and it was a dog. Put a bunch of hits on it and it never got better. Others loved them. Just goes to show that different bats work well for different hitters.
