I got that from the majority of the girls playing anything from lower D1 through D3. Granted a lot of the "bigger" girls playing high to mid-level D1 will be swinging a 33 or 34 inch bat. However, there are many more smaller girls that won't or can't compete at that level that are swinging the smaller bats. 33 is by far the most popular but 32 still comes in second especially at the lower levels where you find girls of small stature playing.

ETA: Think about how many D1 colleges there are versus D2 and D3 combined.

Yocoach - but, and with all due respect, how did you get that "from the majority of girls playing anything...."? This has been a question we've grappled with for a couole years now and there does dont seem to be any true consensus out there. I completely agree with your earlier comment about swinging a bat that won't compromise your mechanics. Great discussion here!

You polled them???

I can buy "some", but you're saying "most common" along with the 33".

From what I can tell, most college players are in the 5'5"-5'9" range. For the vast majority that size, a 32" bat would be too short and too light.

Once again great info.
The only 32/22 is her miken freak black
She has a 2015 xeno 31/20 and a CF8 31/20.
Each bats respectively weighs 22.1oz, 22.6 oz and 20.2 oz
The xeno weighed the most
She used the xeno at 14u and was hitting in the 1 or 3 hole.
She hit a lot of hrs and triples with the xeno but I don't feel she is a power hitter. I feel she is a gap hitter.
She started to try to hit hrs and started to swing like it was baseball!
I feel at this higher level pitching she needs to get back to line drives

No I didn't poll every player and or coach. However, I do have firsthand (or secondhand depending on how one looks at it) knowledge about 14 programs and this holds true about all 14. Three of the D1 programs (Mid-major), their players swing some 34 drop 8, 9 and 10s with 33 drop 10's being the most prevalent, There are a few 33 drop 11s and even fewer 32's but they are represented. On my DD's D2 college team, she's the only one swinging a 34 let alone a drop 8. Everyone else on her team is swinging a 33 with 5 players swinging 32s. On my niece's D2 team, no player is swinging a 34, most swing 33's and 2 swing 32's. I have past players playing throughout the state and Eastern seaboard. Being intrigued with this debate that has been ongoing for awhile, I asked my past players to look at the sizes and see what everyone swings. Of those 12 teams they play for, 33's are the most prevalent and 32's beat out 34's approximately one and a half times to one. I also know and talk to 2 D3 HC at different programs, a HC at a small NAIA college as well as the HC's of the college teams within a 2 hour drive from me of which there are 5. Again, The same basically holds true for them. Few of their players swing 32's in comparison to the number of 33's but even fewer of their players swing 34's. Is this study scientific? Heck no! Does it represent the entire NCAA and NAIA? Of course not. But the fact remains that for these 22-25 programs the statement I made is true and can be extrapolated.

Apparently the coach thinks she can handle a 33/23
The coach measured the players height and weight them
My daughter grew some over the last few months
Apparently she's 5'4" 115 lbs now
Should I even buy her a bat now?
