Ok so took off of work to go out and play last Thursday. Maybe squeeze in a day to do some some fishing or something for myself. Haaa. Having a kid that plays sports, well things changed that day. Instead took Warriorangela to Glendora to see Mike-Coach Q. Before the big day, I did not let Angela know what was going to happen. All I told her is that she has practice with a new coach. I did not want to tell her what she was going to be doing. I thought that if I told her, she would come in negative. So I wanted to make it a more of a surprise, or unexpected workout. Night before I also told her to get out her softball attire. So softball pants, cleats etc, need to be ready, did that so she would be in a softball mindset. Left Fontana area about 715 am to be in Glendora by 9am. LA traffic sucks, so wanted to make plenty of time to get down there and stop off at a Starbucks before we got to the park. Met up with Mike-Coach Q and he explained to me in text prior to the visit what he was going to do. So once we got there he went over some things and then I told him, go ahead, WarriorAngela is all yours.

At first WarriorAngela didn't know what to expect, which is what I wanted. She was shy at first, but after a few minutes she opened up. Mike really got her involved and the two connected. The two discussed mental aspects of hitting and being confident at the plate. Approaching a pitcher and from what I gathered with Angela is that being mentally strong. The session went on for about an hour and a half. Mike-Coach Q did relay to me that she may be quite about this for a few. Her mind was boggled during the drive back home. She did mention that Mike got into her brain. LOL She enjoyed the session and wants to go back now on a regular basis.

Having this resource was great. What my dd picked up really helped her confidence and boosted her moral. So a special shout out to Mike-Coach Q for this. BIG THANKS my friend. We will be seeing each other again soon. Also if there was something I missed Mike, feel free to chime in.

Warriormike, thanks for bringing her out and taking a chance that I could deliver. To meet a teenager cold turkey, I have less than a minutes to capture their attention and about another 3 minutes to find out where she is in her mind and where does she want to go in her heart. Angela was truly awesome to work with. I see lot of talent and potential that will, if it hasn't already, display itself very very soon. Like I told her , she is doing all the work , I'm just clearing the path and guiding her. If the session was a success, it's because of her willingness to want more of herself. It started with my daughter and continues with kids like Angela that I got into coaching. I'm excited and looking forward to our next session. Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.
