DD's all-star team played a couple of weeks ago in the Rec All/Star WS. They played some of their worst defense ever - or these other teams were just that good. And DD did not do well at all - she had no hits n:( I think she had a couple productive bunts but only got on a base a few times. So it was a disappointing way to end the season.

MS ball started practices this past week and we have two teams that practice together. It's the same coach and it's clear there is an A team and a B team and DD is on the A team (though they don't want the girls calling it that). Teams scrimmaged this week and A beat B pretty badly (21-1)

But DD was really worried since she hadn't practiced in a couple of weeks. Defensively she didn't have much to do but did better hitting (even though she plays SS and C). We were in the middle of a 2 out rally - bases were loaded when DD came up to bat and usually I hate that because she just doesn't do well in that scenario. She gets a solid hit to the outfield between CF and LF and gets a double and brings in all 3 runs - she usually has a lot of trouble hitting off slower pitchers as well.

Nice, hopefully that will set the tone for her hitting, and she will do well in those scenarios.
