Did anyone else see her play at 2B today against Georgia? Behind the back throw to 1B for the out. Unbelievable!! Reminds of the great Ozzie Smith.
I can't wait for one of the DFP video gurus to post it...
Did anyone see the shot she took today? Took a shot in the ribs. She had no chance of getting out of the way. Thank God it wasn't her face. I hope she gets back soon, I love watching her pitch!!
Taylore Fuller just hit her 3rd HR of the day (grand slam) to tie the game. If Florida can somehow win this game, it will be the greatest comeback I've seen in fastpitch. Amazing game to watch!
Our 2nd year 12U team had a friendly against our 2nd year 14U team yesterday. Definitely intimidating to see the size difference on the field. My DD got the start and since it was her first time pitching from 43 feet in a game, I asked her about the difference on the way home.
Her response...
Well, not exactly.
Story from USA Today a few weeks ago:
LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — A son of Fidel Castro and a prominent Washington, D.C.-based attorney will help campaign for the return of baseball and softball in the Olympics.
The World Baseball Softball Confederation says Antonio Castro...
Just read this article. Amazing talent. Blows me away that this girl is only a year older than my DD.

Yes, this organization is an in-state rival of ours, but their 10u team just won Western Nationals and I had to give props to this kid for going yard. She played against us last year on their '02 team and was their best hitter even though she was younger than her teammates. Congrats to Acers...
Today my youngest DD got to pitch the first "real" game of her life. She just turned 7 and is playing in a small summer rec league with older girls (8-10 y/o). This was the first game of the season and she got to start in the circle. She pitched 2 innings and had 2 walks and 6 strikeouts...
After watching a girl shut our team down with consistent 57-58 mph fastballs today (measured with a Bushnell), I was just wondering how many girls there are out there who can throw that hard at 12U? This is the first time for us. I've seen many cruise the low 50's but this was the first girl...
Had a scary moment today in the tournament championship game. DD was up to bat in the 1st inning and took a first pitch heater to the helmet. I didn't think much of it other than thinking, "Damn, that was loud" to myself. However, she immediately started staggering around and then she...
Routine ground ball to 6F, force attempted @ 2B, 6-4. 4F pulled her foot off the base before she received the ball. Should this be ruled base hit or E4?
Anyone in the Pacific Northwest going to the Ice Breaker in Tri Cities? Looks like we're going to have perfect softball weather. Can't wait to hit the road tomorrow!
Anyone else watch tonight's game? Wow. Both starting pitchers go into the 10th inning. Escobedo/Pinon. What a great duel, although both teams were hitting in clutch situations.
Last weekend I saw something strange. Runner on 1st, batter hits hard line drive to RC. As runner is rounding 3B to go home, coach tells her to stop. As she puts the breaks on, she loses her balance and almost runs over the coach, who grabs her to keep her from falling (she literally ran...
Stacy Mahoe discusses why she thinks "elbow up" is bad for softball. Personally, I think she is way off base and even makes a straw man of what she's criticizing. What do you guys think?
Tonight at the end of practice my DD's coach had them working on infield bunting/slapping situations. He (a former fastpitch player) decided to have my DD pitch to him and she made him whiff on a dropball. She thought he missed it on purpose but he told her it was "a hell of a nice pitch". I...
This is a question regarding the Bat Jack. I was wondering if it is legal to use it during games. I've heard yes and no. The ones who say "yes" have told me all that is necessary to make it legal is to put a strip of tape over the velcro so that it has no chance of sliding on the bat. Others...
