Coaches, for you: Why or why not let the pitcher throw her movement pitches?

My DD was not a natural athlete she played rec ball as a youngster but was not that serious about it. High school came and she was cut her first year and then decided she wanted to play softball worked her butt off and made the All State team by the end of her high school days and now is playing...- oldcop

Warming up - How much time do you spend on it?
Warm ups are very important, but I think it depends on the weather conditions if cold it may take a little longer. I personally like the dynamic stretching. I just like them to warm up enough they are breaking a sweat that way you know the body is warm- oldcop

3 weeks of fall ball, 3 players have quit my team...
I think that in 12u or younger this happens a lot. I call it the weeding process, you dont see this happening often at the 16-18 age groups, by then they know if they really want to play or not. Tryouts vs recruitment
You can watch a kid throw and catch for five minutes and tell if they can play but do they have the heart, that something you cant tell at one try-out. I like to know a little about each player and their parents before I make a decision . We usually have 3 try-outs before the team is picked.- oldcop
