    Comfortable Cleats

    need some advice

    Make sure you have at least 2 pitchers that can throw strikes, and a decent catcher that doesn't drop 3rd strikes. Try to schedule a friendly scrimmage or two with a nearby TB team before your first tournament.

    Quality Glove for 9yr old

    I bought my daughter the Louisville Valkyrie 12". It is made from steerhide with nice padding on the palm. It is not too heavy. It has held up really well. The glove can accomodate an 11" or 12" Ball.

    Bat

    When my daughter was that size, I had her use a 28" -13 aluminum bat. 28" -11.5-12.5 is a good length/weight for that height unless she is strong with quick hands.

    There are 2 stores Charlie Rose Baseball and Fontanettis in the Silicon Valley. They both sell softball and baseball gear. Fontanettis has been around since I was in little league.

    BOW NET Big Mouth

    Another small weakness of the bownet are the 4 rubber feet that on the base. They tend to come off easily. I had to buy sturdier 1" rubber feet that stayed on better.

    Any experience with nylon mesh backed gloves?

    My DD is using a 12" Louisville Slugger nylon mesh backed glove. She likes a lighter glove. Anyone here have any experience with the higher end gloves with the mesh backs from Akadema, Vinci, Rawlings, or other brands?

    Batting Helmet recomendation

    My daughter uses the Mizuno Helmet. It fits her well. We like the matte finish. The Mizuno fit better than some of the other helmets on her. For her next helmet, I would probably buy a Schutt. I saw one at a baseball/softball specialty store recently. The quality is good and domestically made.
