    Pitcher Only

They were coaches from some of the known programs throughout Southern California. The logic behind it was to protect the pitcher from injury as much as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pitcher Only

Yes I agree. My DD is a much better hitter than she is a pitcher. She has good speed and spin but she walks a lot of people. So, IMO, I think it’s good that pitchers are allowed to do everything so they pigeonholed into one thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can I ask where it is you’re from? Up here in the northeast PO hasn’t become a thing yet. It’s something that I’m hearing is being done out west. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pitcher Only

Exactly. Why try and narrow it down to just one position? If she can perform well then let her play. I know injuries are a factor in wanting to protect the pitcher but IMO it’s more important to allow the player to make that decision to be a PO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pitcher Only

Ive talked to some coaches out west and it sounds like they are is doing away with two way players. Idk if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. But why change the game? I understand it to a degree that if a pitcher is just ok hitting but she’s dominate in the circle then keep her as a PO. But, if...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

I hear ya haha but as I said in an earlier post, she is a new instructor to us and she didn’t know that brush is something we’ve never worked on. I did ask her flat out if she uses brush as a technique and that’s when she went on a 25 min talk about it. I started to realize it when she kept...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

Looks like we’re onto something gentlemen. After having a 25 min conversation with my daughters instructor about body positioning to start her and my daughter worked on a few contact points to ensure that my daughters body is in a good position before the brush point and snap. This seemed to...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

The side by side comp here Is very helpful. Tough to see when I’m catching her tho as I’m trying not to get nailed by the 4 seam. Perhaps, I can’t set up a net instead and watch from the side when she’s practicing. Have her aim to a general location and just try to hit that area. Sent from my...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

We changed instructors bc after a couple of years we weren’t happy with the results. Her posture and release just seemed off. I can’t really explain it but it wasn’t a good fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DD cannot throw strikes..

Here’s another video. This was back in early March. The step back has gone away, all else has remained the same. I’m using this video bc I don’t have anything else recorded from the side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DD cannot throw strikes..

I see your point but if you look at the other stills KenB put up, all those pitchers front shoulder are completely closed. I think the main issue is the arm getting around the hip, instead of brushing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DD cannot throw strikes..

We’ll be seeing her later today. She’s always told my DD to keep her arm close to her body so I think she’s in-line with everyone’s thinking. I just didn’t know what she meant by that. Now I sort of have an idea. For reference, she’s only just started seeing this instructor also and she’s...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

Glad you didn’t stay out of this. This piece of information along with everyone else’s has been helpful. I’m seeing why she is missing now and it might not be an easy fix but it sounds doable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here’s a quick video. This is generally how she misses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DD cannot throw strikes..

She works on hitting plenty and absolutely crushes balls. I understand where you’re coming from though. As frustrating as it gets, it’s quite possible that she’s one mechanical fix away from being consistent in the zone. She’s a good player but nothing ever came easy for her. Pitching being one...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

Thanks for clarifying and I understand what you mean. I love the game but never played it myself (baseball or Fastpitch) so I was just trying to say what you explained in a more common/basic version of it. In any case, before I can get her to a point where she can move the ball one ball at a...

    DD cannot throw strikes..

After viewing this and comparing it to my DD’s release zone, this could be the issue. There’s a significant gap btwn her forearm and hip. I’ve been trying to upload video or add a gif but it’s next to impossible trying to get it up on this forum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Quite possible. I’m just trying to get all the information out there the best I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    DD cannot throw strikes..

Thank you for the advice. This is essentially what I’ve done and will continue to do but seeing that she’s not consistent in the zone Im just trying to add a little more focus on the accuracy part to get her into games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
