I don't know if they are the lightest, but the Mizuno Watley 9 Spike is a very light shoe, and it wears extremely well.
With the front spikes being replaceable, your kid will probably out grow them before wearing them out. (Unless she is a pitcher lol)
I don't get the fascination with Ringors, they are more than twice the weight of my DD's Mizuno's.
I picked one up and it felt like I was holding a Dutch clog. :p
The "you can't teach arm" argument is totally invalid at age 10, I had a girl on my 10u rec team who threw the ugliest shot-put rainbows you ever saw, She worked with a position coach, learned proper mechanics and at age 13 is now throwing missiles.
Sometimes the mechanics are so off, you have...
Your talking about catchers right Amy?
Go with whoever blocks better, I guarantee the girl who can stop the most "junk" will save more runs than a girl who can pick off an occasional steal attempt, especially at the rec level.
I remember 10 runs or more scored from passed balls alone in several...

That is the glove my DD started with, nice glove, break-in is extremely fast.. It's not a glove that will go the distance however, it was pretty floppy before it got to the 2 year mark. I thought about replacing it with...
I guess what my point was...
TB is a year round commitment here, I can't imagine too many TB coaches that would be ok with their players taking off for a few months so they can boost their ego in rec ball.
Where do all you people live that have/had kids.. who play rec AND TB?
My DD plays on a TB team here in SoCal.. and I'm trying to imagine exactly where the hell the time would come from?
Do these girls quit a TB team, join a rec team.. then vise-versa, and just kinda bounce around all year?
I...
The need to ban these P.O.S bats.. I have seen 3 break myself, and it's not like I see a whole lot of kids using them either.
Obviously a VERY flawed design.
As I said Amy, She is a solid student, She has made Honor roll 2 of the last 3 years, I may get her help with math, but I suspect it was the dislike of her math teacher that caused the dip in her math grade.
I posed the question after reading a thread about Dexter Manley in one of my NFL forums...
I realize the question implies that my DD is an below average student, But I can truthfully state that she is a solid 3.5 or better every year. (math being her Achilles) I ask the question, because obviously many of these same schools give scholarships to football players who couldn't...
In three years of catching, My daughter has never taken off her helmet, I can't recall one incident where I thought to myself "Gee, if she had only taken off her helmet, she makes that play".
I think girls initially did it because their baseball fan/player Dads told them that's what catchers...
I'm completely jazzed right now, I bought the SSk from Craigslist clear across the country, the ad said "used".
This thing is brand spanking new, not sure it ever saw a ball in the pocket!!
A rare moment of luck for me haha.
