    Am looking for help on what size catching equipment to buy for a 12 year old. The sports stores in the local area do not have a good selection to try on and I would like to order some on-line. She is ~59 inches tall and is average build. Any comments appreciated.

    Throwing off the facemask

    Had our catcher at 10U throw her mask off for a pop-up last year. Lost it in the sun, caught it with her right eye-socket... ouch. Keep 'em on unless you can't see. The Mizuno ones have a nice extended opening at the top to increase the visibility.

    I videod all my girls hitting off the tee last weekend using my daughters Canon A480. Not sure the fps, but good enough for me to see their swing. I was able to see a lot more in slow motion than when they are hitting full speed in front of me.
