There are kids on my team that go to "Sam" the Pitching Coach. Sam was a very good men's fastpitch pitcher 20 or 30 years ago, and he has been teaching a while. His resume looks good, but he isn't a good teacher. He teaches "slam the door" and "hello elbow". His students throw 55 MPH with...
So, I'm out at the old ball park watching a HS game.
The pitcher is pretty good...throws 60MPH with a rise. She has some talent, and might be good at some point, but she doesn't have great control yet. She is 14YOA or so. Crazy Mommy sets up behind the backstop.

After a game, the coach tells the pitcher, in front of the entire team, that she lost the game for the team. The pitcher did, in fact, fall apart in the 7th inning. She walked two batters, committed an error, and allowed three hits.
I don't mind telling a player in private that she needs to...
One of my students 14U students ("Sally") has been coming to me for a while. She was a train wreck (completely closing hips prior to release, slow arm, no legs...). So, of course, that means I was starting at less than zero.
Sally always comes to the lessons, but she does not consistently...
My daughter (15 years old) can crush inside pitches. She rockets them.
But, if she get something on the outside part of the plate, she'll miss it by a mile.
Any ideas on what we can do?
Thanks.
