My DD’s actual HS stats bear no resemblance to what is in GC, Maxpreps, or the state site. The coaches have subs do GC, so it’s anything goes. My level of care is zero though.
So, for a 5 inning game, the starter would need to pitch at least 3 innings to be credited with win. It sounds like in your case, the reliever would get the credit.

a. The starting pitcher is credited with a win in the following
circumstances:

the game and her team stays ahead for the remainder of the game.

I'm over announcers just not having the slightest concept of obstruction.
Last night BYU / UCF game, they were incredulous for 10 minutes about an out that was overturned, and never even once had the inkling of a seed of a thought that it was because of obstruction. The word obstruction was...

A kid I coached (and who will be on our HS team next year) is on the RITG team. Of course, the coach's DD goes to our rival HS next year. That guy has had 3 stud DD's who wreak havoc on us.
The roster doesn't "need" to be that large, but having those players definitely helps:
Practice - you always have runners, players to fill out numbers for drills, set up / tear down, catch bullpens, shag, have enough for same squad scrimmages, etc.
Home games - there's a bunch of things to get...
CT here. Pitchers and catchers report today. Full team tryouts start Monday.
Defending conference champs and state semi-finalist, but lost our ace to graduation (pitching at a very good D3). New ace is very good though, and the lineup is full of returning bats, so should be another good...
It’s 8u rec with coach relief, so there’s only one thing to remember - WINNING MATTERS. Have the ace get used to pitching with a wig on, something the contrasts her natural hair color. When the games start to count, pitch her max innings with the wig, then close out the games without the wig...
Wow. In CT season starts mid March. We squeeze the 20 games in a month and a half (3/30 to 5/13), then conference playoffs, then state playoffs, all wrapped by early June. So last year, 26 games total, plus 2 scrims.
Speculating here, but I'm guessing he was operating without certainty about whether they would be able to re-start if they suspended play (i.e. is the rain going to continue, and if so will the game ultimately be called).
If they couldn't continue, score reverts to last complete inning, and...
My nephew is a senior at Columbia - there have been a few guys who have moved on to play year 5 at another school. There's a school that has been in contact with him about another year if he choses to go that route.
The pic in post 6 above is Danbury. It's "fine" in that it's big enough for 2 pretty full size fields. They aren't the nicest fields as it's a multi-sport set up, and the lighting could be better, and if you're on the 3rd base side of one of the fields you will lose your hearing and have dry...
