I can agree with that. She’s definitely not whipping the bat into the zone. Always something to work on but this is light years ahead of where we came from.
She is! We picked up with a team to finish out the season so she hasn’t had a chance to use It very much but we’re about to fire up school ball so we should get plenty of chances there.
Here’s one from the front. By rolling around the hip are we talking about letting the arm naturally roll over into what I would call an IR release? This was actually a pretty good pitch.
She just turned 13 two weeks ago. Her old hitting coach would tell her to swing down to create backspin. She described it as a shoulder to pocket with your hands. Similar to putting on a seatbelt.
Looking for some feedback on this swing. She’s just recently switched styles from swinging down on the ball to turning the barrel. It looks decent to me but all of her coaches complain because of the follow through. They all assume she has a uppercut swing and keep telling her to swing down...
We just got back from nationals and I was finally able to get a clip from behind. We noticed that the arm was coming behind her during the back swing and we are working on correcting that. During this practice session she was complaining of her forearm slamming into her hip.
The stick was just something I put down for her to try and drag it. As far as missing location, she’s leaving everything to the right side of the plate from the pitchers perspective. I had to set up in the opposite batters box last night before she finally started hitting the outside corner...
Here’s a short clip of my 12u dd. We’ve been fighting this leaping issue for as long as I can remember and just recently have lost control of being able to hit the outside part of the plate when pitching to righties. Anything that sticks out that we can address?
I agree, after reading about front side resistance and brush interference we are working on the stride foot being closer to 45 degrees. I also feel like she has too much weight out over her front side causing her to bend over some.
