My daughter had surgery to repair a torn labrum in her hip. They repaired the tear and shaved off bony deformities in her pelvis and her femur head. Surgery was in Jan and she came back two weeks ago, is 100% and doing quite well.
It’s a long road. She worked her rear off before surgery to...
Exactly. Nobody is forcing anyone to play in a STP tourney. If you don’t like it, don’t play in it. Pretty simple.
I used to run our team’s travel. Every tourney was out of town and every tourney at STP. We would set our summer schedule in December. In Jan, I would start making reservations...
I’ve heard coaches say the same thing. But while they may delete or trash the commercialized pamphlets, etc., I know for a fact that coaches communicate with scouts about kids. To each their own, but it’s been well worth our money.

We are with NSR as well. Our scout has been great. Not only in finding options for DD, but just being a good ear and support for her.

The kid who is willing to step back into the circle time and time again after experiencing failure, keep working towards some success is the type of kid I want to hire some day. It’s the type of kid who will understand relationships better because she’ll have more patience with people by knowing...
What types of camps are you attending? Are you attending camps at schools who have expressed an interest in your daughter or just guessing? Because I'd suggest attending camps who have expressed an interest in your daughter.
So what happens when your DD hits 65 as a Sr and the schools she’s interested in don’t have any spots or $$?
Schools aren’t just looking at the type of player your daughter is NOW, they are looking at the player she can become.

That kid didn’t think college athletes drink or smoke?
Not all do, but a lot definitely do. They’re still college kids. She’s in for a wide awakening wherever she goes.

This. If you throw 60, you will be a college player, potentially at a high level. If only 3% of softball players play in college, and only a small fraction of those girls are pitchers, then by mere mathematics the number of girls breaking 60 is small.

We play on a team 3 hrs away. We go for practice once a week on Sunday afternoons. It’s been great. It’s an easy drive with 4 lane interstate the entire way.
DD is fully rostered and treated just like any other kid. The biggest challenge is keeping up with other practices. The team practices...
The recruiting calendar changes for D1 that went into effect last year don’t allow D1 coaches to attend club ball events until after the WCWS. But they can attend HS events. Will they? Who knows. But if they have an eye on a kid, they can at least watch her for HS games.
I’m a proponent of...

My DD also got a QPro from Core on Wed. She’s only done tee work, but loves it. She’s looking forward to a hitting lesson tonight and tourney this weekend.

Just follow Rule #1 - love your kid.
It’s ok to be nervous. It’s ok to push her the right way. But at the end of the day, make sure she 100% knows you have her back.
I lost track of that rule for a bit and it almost cost me my relationship with my daughter. If you just love your kid, enjoy...
Perhaps you can answer a question...is the USSSA approved Ghost also approved for USA (ASA) softball tourneys? Or do you have to buy one of each?

My question is where do you see this heading? Because it sounds as if you’re going to end up at the TB level at some point. And it will be hard for her to be both a pitcher and a catcher for a TB team. That is very physically demanding.
If she’s going to pitch, stay down and develop the...
I don’t know what more of an emotional argument we need to mandate them beyond they will help prevent your face from being crushed in. To me, they should be mandated for pitchers and it’s no different than mandating that batting helmets have face guards.
