Ok, I've been having my dd do carolina walkthroughs and she still has a very aggressive knee bend on her plant leg. It really causes her to lean forward too much. Is there another drill that will help fix this?
Yes my dd has 5 pitches, it's not what your thinking. I'm not a daddy that says my dd can throw a fastball, change, drop, screw and rise or curve. My daughter throws a 4 seam and 2 seam fast ball. The spin and movement for both pitches really throw off the batters. She has 2 change ups one where...
Hello all,
I've been real busy lately and haven't had a chance to post anything, here in AZ we're blessed with great softball weather and have been working on alot of things softball. I was looking for some arm speed drills to have my dd do. Here timing is a little off. She is full plant and...
I have a girl on our team that when she releases her release shoulder goes up and her front shoulder goes down. She is a slapper of the glove pitcher and I had her start trying to hit her hip if she absolutely has to slap her leg. When she tries to slap her hip her shoulders are much more...
On the "Another Pitcher" thread there was a comment made that at her level letting her leap was ok. She is 9 years old. That comment made me think a little. At what stage do we as coaches not allow certain trends that lead to bigger issues go? At what stage in the development of our pitchers do...
I've included a picture of my dd hitting, can I get some feed back please, because dad doesn't know what he's talking about. I tell her she will always have a problem with hitting the inside pitch with her starting stance. But on the same note she gets into a good heal plant. Anyway any comments...
My DD pulled a muscle in her catching side back right above the hip. She was pitching last season just in warmups and bam! she says ouch. she was done for the day. What caused that and what to do to prevent it?
:confused:We have a tournament this weekend and it's going to be hot 101-103. We are also playing 3 games in a row starting @ 2:00. Poor girls. My question is this I like to have the girls through the night before a tournament just to get loose and get rid of the jitters of playing the next day...
I continuely see mentioned on this site clock position. What determines clock position? Is it just the pitiching arm in relation to a clock? Does the other arm have any thing to do with the clock? At what viewpoint are we to look at the pitcher? is it from third base or first base?
How do I get my pitchers to lean more away from the catcher on release. I see Jennie finch, Cat and others almost pointing their noses in the air on release. What is the benefit of doing this?
