Woodstock, man
Those pictures show not straight up.

Come on, man.

Need our muscles to create stride! Ready for explosive movements. Upper body/hips equally important!

The stride is not an explosive move. You don't need powerful muscles to pick up your front leg. Come on, man.

Nothing explosive happens until you land. Then, if you are relying on 'muscles', you are doing it wrong.

As for how far apart feet are starting with.
See here on DFP multiple examples of narrow to wide stance in the MLB examples posted.
There is not a 'pro' standard.

For more detail.
There are those that start
narrow feet, almost together.
Others start much wider, to almost stretched out.
Myself,
Never would i stand with my feet closer than shoulder width.
Knees atleast as wide as shoulders.
Feet about 24" apart.
(measured big toe to big toe)

And stride...

Wide in my mind is past shoulder width a bit. Standard would be about shoulder width. Narrow would be at the shoulders or inside the shoulders. It all depends on the hitter imo. Widening out can help things or hurt things. All depends on how the hitter moves to create their swing.

Looks like knees are bent.
Who knows where the pitcher is in there 'Yawn' wind up.

Since i've already acknowledged multiple swing stance....
You can like prefer whatever...
Theres obviously a range in this discussion.

Disagree with that comment,
nothing explosive happens until you land.
If the brain thought like that there would be a delay in body reacting with stride.
Ohhh and again some hitters dont stride!
If you rely on muscles your doing it wrong...as a blanket statement thats funny!!!

Sensibly Said!

Simply said,
Athletic posture becomes a consistent tool.
Ready position with body.

Yes! You got/had a solid set up Rad.
Thanks worked well for me.
Also could utilize a little deception with razzle dazzle small ball mixing in.

Its been working well teaching also!
Pretty straight forward approach.
Do see a LOT more of CREATIVE
'interesting beginning stances'
in more recent few years.

Hips at all angles.
Shoulders uneven. One in or the other out.
Standing at an angle facing catcher slightly.
Or really open facing pitcher.
Body kinda twisted to start.
Feet staggered north/south. Sometimes front foot back. Other times its backfoot back.

Guess its folks trying to build a better mouse trap.

The videos of Crystal Bustos amongst others are simply not that complicated!

Yes you use muscles to stride.. or maybe a better description would be you are loading your muscles during the stride, preparing to explode which happens after the stride. No stride/stride, makes no difference.. same sequence into FYB, torque the midsection into FYB. Stand tall, drink a beer, eat a chicken wing etc.. makes no difference unless you get here on time;

.. now explode
