Interaction with college coach/team if not playing HS ball

I have heard that if a player is not playing HS ball, there are no limitations about her visiting the school, talking to the coaches and players during the season.

DD is not playing HS ball this season for medical reasons. There is an accepted students open house coming up that is the same day as a home game, so I was thinking we could hit both. Maybe talk to the coach after- does this sound doable? Would it make a difference if we had already made a d posit/first payment?

I would have her run it by the coach first to make sure she was cool with it. DD has not been recruited by this School (D2) but they don't give out softball scholarships and from what I hear, sounds like they have a history of taking Walk-ons in the fall.

She hasn't had a lot of contact with this coach so I'm thinking anything she can do to sell herself is a good idea.

Have never heard of any limit based on participation in a HS ball.

I heard it from Cathi Aradi- she said something to the effect of If not playing HS ball, you are allowed to practice with DII team during season for evaluation purposes. Maybe I read more into it than what she was really saying?

I think whether or not you can participate in a college practice/evaluation during high school ball may vary from state to state. A quick glimpse of Missouri's athletic assoc handbook seems to allow an evaluation as long as no school is missed without prior approval. So, even if you were in season , a simple visit to the college where contact with players and coaches is made would be fine.
