Well with work we seemed to have fixed the "slamming the door" with the hips but
it looks like to me she is still closing her shoulders. As a result alot of her pitches are high and outside to a RH batter. Any suggestions on drills?
Thanks
A post in another thread got me thinking about how the hips and shoulders work together and at times work separately. I have noticed my daughter shouldes closing to the plat but it seems her hips are staying at a 45. How should the hips and shoulders work during IR? Which fires first? Do...
Ive picked up from he posts that IR should not be used when throwing all pitches.
Can you explan what pitches IR should NOT be used on and why? What the arm
swing would be on those pitches?
Thanks.
Mike
Yep..every once and a while she throws a pitchand t has a bulls eye on it. The ball is
actually pnning right to left but the axis is back. I sho her by twirling my finger whilepointed at her. Is that just her twisting on release?
Hey Folks,
My daughter is working on her drop and she has a 1 oclock to 7 spin on the ball.
That is as viewing form he catcher. She uses 3 fingers and a thumb when pitching.
I have tried to get her to move to 2 finers and a thumb but she says her hand is too
small to grip it right. I was...
quincy,
The other method Ive seen is what has been tagged as the "Step Method". Not sure thats official but thats what its referred to. There is no leap and drag in that its an older method (pre leap and drag) it emphasizes a step not a leap
and states there is more control and spin on the...
So the problem with lists seems to be who teaches IR. Im in St. Louis and have been to quite a few pitching instructors
and for example the last one had quite a few states..pitched and coached in college level. We went for a free analysis and my DD starting warming up......arm back towards...
So this post is getting to exactly what I was asking. I appreciate all the input and BM you are clarifying as you do so well. ONe other thing that Im curious about, and I haven't heard it commented on. In Sarah Paulys video (not the one posted here) Rick talks about a slight snapping of the...
First of all, I need to quit posting when Im working, I didnt even finish a sentence above. :o) I was going to say finding a pitching coach is like buying a bag of assorted candy, you never know what your going to get. We have been to many, from slamming the door to step dont leap, thats why...
I probably got the numbers mixed. I was stating as if looking from the 1st base side. So if looking from the 3rd base side
then 3 oclock would be beginning of leap and glove and ball facing home. Assuming my daughter who is 16 and has pitched for varsity as a Freshman and Soph. She uses a...
My understanding from this site is that
3 oclock - ball facing home
12 oclock - palm and ball facing 3rd, elbow almost straight
9 oclock - palm up ball facing up, elbow bent
Do I have that right?
My daughter doesn't like the feel of palm up at 9 oclock and wants to keep the ball facing...
MountieSB, thanks for the info sounds like a great drill.
A couple of questions. You say we would have lean, I assume that would be backwards. then when she swings
is it a timing issue? I assume that at some point her front hand would have to come off of yours. Is it reallyh WHEN
it comes...
My daughter is a very good hitter. Recently she has begun to pull her front shoulder, shoulders look like they pull back and almost looks as if shes arching her back. She still hits the ball....but I think this is causeing her to pull all pitches and create alot of spin on the ball. Is there...
