    What is correct ruling?

Friday in a State tournament in Alabama, there was a situation that made me scratch my head. Bases loaded with two outs, a ground ball is hit toward the 3b, her momentum pulls her away from the bag. She fields the ball and tags the runner that was coming from second for the third out of the...

What a year in the Weight Room can do.

My daughter has played on her schools varsity team as a 7th,8th and 9th grader. As a 7th grader she was overmatched at the plate, her stats for that year were .210 BA, 300 OB%, .8750 fielding % in 11 games played. As an 8th grader, she was not overmatched at the plate, but was just not...

    Wristbands for signals

Our 12U team used them this fall. What I noticed the most was that girls in the dugout would look down at their wristband after we gave a call to someone on the bases or at the plate. They seemed to be more into the game and knew what we were trying to pull off. The combinations for calls are...

Does anyone here have an Insider Bat?

If any of you have one of the Insider Bats, would you share the length and angle of the device. I want to make one out in the shop this week, but wondering what the length and angle is. Any help would be appreciated.

    Possible Torn Meniscus

My nephew tore his meniscus mid season during his junior year of football. He played the remainder of the season and the week after playoffs he went to Birmingham and had it fixed. 3 weeks later he was going at it in the weight room as hard as any other kid on the team.

    You make the Call!

She had fielding position first and was in the process of releasing the ball. The ball went one way, her mask went another and her face went into the ground. The choice the fielder made to go to second with the ball is irrelavant.

    You make the Call!

Well when you try for a tag that sometimes causes more trouble getting the first out. She was trying to start a double play. Have they turned them before- Yes, would they have turned it then, I dont know. But both infielders were in position to try for it. It wouldnt have changed anything if...

    You make the Call!

We are playing in a 12U championship game against a team that is older, pretty close game at this point. We have screwed around and have let them load the bases up with one out. A routine grounder is hit to the 2b, she comes up on the ball and fields it cleanly and has dropped to her left knee...

Good contact - but ball doesn't go very far... suggestions?

I feel your pain, my dd just moved into 12u this fall and is only batting .235 through about a dozen games. She only has one K, the rest have been ground ball outs. She is a small girl with just average power for her size. She bats 5th in the lineup, and she understands her job is to move...

stealing signs from opposing catcher / coach

If you can figure out what the other coach is trying to do with his batter and runners, I will use it in a heart beat to help my girls defend it. Sometimes it is pretty easy to figure out the pitching signs that the coach is giving from his bucket or from the fingers the catcher has dangling...

Wear another team's practice uniform to tryouts?

I attended a hitting clinic at the University of South Alabama a couple of years ago with some of our high school girls. There was a player dressed in white pants, North Carolina Blue Tshirt with nothing on it, a white under armour turtle neck, white head band, and matching blue socks. She was...

    What about this swing?

I knew it had to have something to do with the big zone. But i dont see how he can see where the bat is in a full speed swing. Also the orange things are a set distance, each player will keep the bat in the zone different lenghts because of stature, bat length and initial set up at the plate...

    What about this swing?

Please ask your coach the purpose of the two orange things and report back to us. The only thing I can think of is that he was trying to show them if they stay in zone, just how far out in front they can make contact with a ball. i'm grasping trying to figure this hitting aid out.

    Pet Peeve thread

My pet peeve is when someone "quotes" the last two pages of a thread, when they get ready to say something stupid in a thread. Everyone has alreday read the last 9 pages of a thread, there is no need in "quoting the whole dang thing.
